The Art Olympiad prepares children for a creative and cooperative future. Participation in the global art competition impresses upon the child that he or she is not alone, that other children around the planet are participating in the exact same program, and they can interact with them, make new friends and gain new perspectives. The Art Olympiad encourages children to embrace the world, instead of fearing and withdrawing from it. Enhancing children's creative potential and fostering global harmony are the twin challenges of the 21st Century.

The theme of the current competition, "Me in the New Millennium", invokes vitally important issues for children: "How do I see myself?" "How do I want the world to see me?" "What do I want to change?"

Schools, Art Clubs, Youth Organizations and Children's Homes

We would like to extend an invitation to your school, club, organization or home to participate in the Art Olympiad and get a chance to be selected to represent Malaysia in the Creativity Olympics, Washington DC. Teachers and facilitators are to select up to 5 representative artworks per school, club, organization or home, involving children in the selection process as much as possible. Please send the representative artworks to Yellow House with a completed Artwork Submission Form. The Artwork Submission Forms can be downloaded here.

Please don't wait for the deadline! Early entries have a better chance of being featured in ICAF's ChildArt magazine, UNICEF's children's art calendars and on our Websites

Exhibition and Selection for the Olympics

About 80 pieces of the submitted artworks will be chosen and exhibited at Yellow House and other venues in Malaysia between February 2003 and April 2003.

Our distinguished panel of judges, which include children, will select the winners and the Malaysian child representative for the Creativity Olympics in Washington DC in June 2003.

Representatives from each U.S. State and Territory and from about 100 participating countries will be the Official Participants at ICAF's 2003 Creativity Olympics in Washington, DC. Parents and teachers of the representatives will also participate in ICAF's Children's Creativity Symposium and will be honored at a special awards ceremony.
