How to edit PDFs for free on a Mac

 

There are four PDF apps available for free.

  1. Preview:

    Preview is the standard PDF reader on Macs, and it also offers PDF editing capabilities. Use the different tools in the “Markup” toolbar to add text, shapes, signatures, and other elements to the PDF file after opening it in Preview. Additionally, you can strikethrough, underline, and make comments on text.
  2. LibreOffice PDF editor

    is part of LibreOffice, a free and open-source workplace suite. Select “Export as PDF” from the File option after opening LibreOffice Writer and starting a new document. The PDF document can then be edited in LibreOffice Draw by choosing “Open” from the “File” option and then choosing the PDF file

  3. Google Docs:

    if you have a Google account, you can modify PDFs using Google Docs. When you’ve uploaded the PDF file to Google Drive, select “Open with” -> “Google Documents” from the context menu. The PDF file will be changed into an editable Google Documents document. The revised paper is then available for download as a PDF.

  4. Smallpdf

    A free trial is available for Smallpdf, a web Document editor. You can upload a PDF file to a website, modify it there with the available tools, and then download the revised PDF file.
