Dongdaemun — more properly known as Heunginjimun (Gate of Rising Benevolence)— is a prominent landmark in central Seoul, South Korea. The Korean name “Dongdaemun” means “Great East Gate,” and it was so named because it was the major eastern gate in the wall that surrounded Seoul during the Joseon Dynasty. The gate is located at Jongno 6-ga in Jongno-gu.

My Korea Autumn Discovery + Jeju Island Trip (Part 1/6)

Korea Autumn – 21th-28th SEPT 2008 (Highlight) DAY 1 Singapore – Incheon This is my first trip in 2008 after visit India in 2007. Anywhere, We assemble at Singapore Changi Airport at 8:30 pm for our flight (Asiana Airline) to Seoul. Seoul is the capital of Korea, the country also known as the ‘Land of Modern Miracles and Ancient Traditions’.
